Locum Head of Commercial Law – Midlands – Remote Working – 3 months+ – £450-500 per day (Umbrella) D.O.E
Venn Group’s specialist legal team are pleased to be recruiting for a Locum Head of Commercial Law to join a well-established Local Authority in the Midlands area.
This assignment will run for a period of 3 months with the likelihood of extension and will be worked on a fully remote working basis.
This assignment is offered on a full-time basis however candidates possessing relevant experience who can only offer part-time hours will also be considered.
The ideal candidate would be a Qualified Solicitor, Barrister or Legal Executive who is able to handle contracts and commercial matters with management experience gained within Local Government.
Duties may include:
To assist in the management of the Law and Governance Services team including Property, Contracts and Procurement, Planning & Highways, Employment Law, Prosecutions and Licencing, Civil Litigation and Housing/ASB
To supervise and monitor the conduct of cases undertaken while providing leadership & direction to team members
To manage the team budget adhering to agreed priorities and financial regulations
To promote and maintain the objective and policies including making recommendatios to change procedures
Drafting documentation that achieves clients’ objectives and to negotiate and settle documentation with their third parties
Providing high quality legal advice and assistance on contract and commercial matters to client departments across the Local Authority
Maintaining awareness of relevant legislation, regulations and codes of practice
The role is offering a rate of between £450-500 per hour (Umbrella) D.O.E.
