Legal Counsel Job - Oxford/Remote

Your new company
Our client is a trusted and highly regarded service provider who, due to expansion, are currently looking for a commercial lawyer to join their legal team, based in Oxford. This is a wonderful opportunity to develop your legal career within a driven and successful environment and substantially influence major decisions in our client's sector. They are offering a hybrid model of remote and in-office working, part-time hours and flexible start and finish times; please specify your requirements when applying.

Your new role
Within this job, you will be responsible for providing guidance and legal advice to a range of employees, as well as the board of directors, and will consult with and advise senior management on complex or highly critical issues. This will include areas such as business transactions with customers, financial institutions, and shareholders. You will work with domestic and international business units on legal issues relating to sales and operations, contracts, and general commercial business matters and draft and negotiate commercial contracts. You will also have the opportunity to develop overall legal strategy for the company as it expands to include multiple offices in various jurisdictions, including planning out the scaling of the legal team.

What you'll need to succeed
The successful candidate must be a UK qualified lawyer with at least 3 years' experience in commercial or corporate law. Our client are keen to hear from candidates coming from either a private practice or in-house background. You will have proven negotiating skills and sound commercial judgment, and the ability to make sound decisions, take independent action and juggle multiple workstreams in a fast-paced environment.

What you'll get in return
This is a great opportunity for a lawyer looking to make their first move in house from private practice, or for an in-house lawyer looking for their next challenge. You will also receive a competitive salary and a range of other benefits.
