Job Details
We are looking for a dynamic expert in senior level local authority commercial and information law to join our Commercial and Information Governance Team which provides advice to the County Council, Districts Councils and to other external public bodies who engage our services. You will deal with an exciting and varied range of local authority work.
The role
The main areas of responsibility will be to draft, settle and complete a diverse range of contract and commercial related documentation. The candidate will be required to advise generally and in detail on contract and procurement law. Experience of, or in interest in, corporate law, section 75 agreements and specific experience with the JCT suite of building contracts would be advantageous.
What we're looking for
The candidate will ideally have a high level of knowledge and a detailed understanding of contract law and procurement law. Specific local government experience is not essential but the candidate must have experience of working in this area of law within the public sector. The candidate will also need to demonstrate good literacy and IT skills, the ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing with the specific ability to draft legal advice, letters and reports in clear and in plain English and an ability to work as part of an existing team.
A strong team player is required who will be able to apply their knowledge innovatively and proactively.
