Job Details

Our client is recognised as a centre of scientific, engineering and technological excellence, equipped with some of the most advanced research, design and production facilities in the world. This is an organisation that has been at the forefront of the UK nuclear deterrence programme for more than 60 years. Their unique nuclear skills and expertise means that they are also able to provide intelligence and support to the UK Government by developing innovative solutions to combat nuclear threat, terrorism and nuclear proliferation.

This organisation is delivering major new-build projects to provide the safe and secure modern working environments necessary to meet current and future needs. A fantastic opportunity has therefore arisen for a Construction Lawyer to join their high calibre legal team. While contentious exposure is a bonus, non-contentious experience is the main requirement, and the applicant must be comfortable dealing with the suite of NEC contracts, and the day-to-day legal issues that arise on busy construction projects.

  • On a personal level this individual will have the ability to engage a diverse range of stakeholders, understanding their needs and providing relevant commercial solutions. This role will suit a bright, enthusiastic lawyer, with a can-do attitude, and the willingness to turn their hand at whatever comes across the table.
  • Applications from lawyers both in house and in practice are welcome. Our client has been very successful transitioning lawyers from private practice, while providing those already in house with the opportunity to develop their career further.

This organisation, who are recognised as one of the best 25 big companies to work for in the UK, offers an attractive array of benefits which include:

  • Very competitive salary package
  • Market leading contributory pension scheme
  • Generous holiday entitlement
  • Flexible working

Candidates must be willing and able to obtain and maintain the security clearance required for the role. Please note that you must be a British National to apply for this role.

If you are interested in this Legal Counsel role and are looking for a new challenge within construction law, please contact Laura Hayward on email; laura.hayward@sellickpartnership.co.uk, or alternatively call 0161 834 1642 to discuss the role further.
