Interim Solicitor

Your new company
A south Yorkshire NHS Foundation Trust are seeking an interim Solicitor for a minimum of 6 months.

Your new role
The aim of the role is to provide legal advice to the trust on inquests, personal injury, clinical negligence, Court of Protection and medico-legal matters. You will co-ordinate the defence of all clinical negligence litigation, assess inquest cases and collate evidence for coronial investigations. In addition you will assist both the Head and Deputy Head of Legal Services with medico-legal advice, carry out legal research into more complex/contentious issues and represent the trust as an advocate at inquest hearings.

What you'll need to succeed
To be considered for the role you should hold a legal degree and/or be qualified a qualified Solicitor/Barrister/CILEX. You should have experience of working in a similar role either in the public or private sector and have experience of managing a portfolio of claims and inquests. You should have demonstrable knowledge of clinical negligence, litigation and investigations and have knowledge of inquests/Coroner's Rules and knowledge of the legal system. Finally, you will have high levels of both written and verbal communication skills, presentation skills and a meticulous attention to detail.

Although the role will be predominantly remote working, there may be the need to attend the office when required (maximum once a week).
