Harding Evans
An established, full-service law firm in Newport, South Wales
The Opportunity
This is a rare and exciting opportunity to join a well-established, friendly, supportive, full-service law firm in Newport, South Wales as a salaried Partner in its Commercial department.
You’ll be joining Harding Evans, one of south Wales’ leading medium-sized law firms which prides itself on its close-knit, supportive working environment, and fantastic opportunities for career progression.
Reporting directly into one of the firm’s owners, you will be encouraged to undertake business development activities while managing a caseload of commercial property matters consisting of secured lending, planning and development, landlord and tenant as well as freehold and leasehold sales and acquisitions.
What you will get in return
As well as offering a very competitive salary and flexible working arrangements, this role could be the perfect opportunity to transform your career, in a firm that really cares.
Working in a medium-sized law firm - particularly one which values its employees and is committed to ensuring a healthy work/life balance - can bring all sorts of benefits that can be difficult to access in larger firms. With a friendly, more informal and relaxed working atmosphere, you’ll get to work closely with senior clients and quickly establish yourself as their trusted advisor in a very hands-on role.
While specialising in commercial law, you'll have opportunities to work closely with colleagues in other practice areas, such as litigation and employment law, to build Harding Evans’ commercial services offer.
This role also offers fantastic career progression prospects whether you are already a Partner or ready to take the next step on your pathway to Partnership. A proven self-starter and strategic thinker, you'll have plenty of opportunity to show your initiative and will be trusted to perform important tasks with minimal supervision. You’ll have the chance too to help shape the firm’s future direction, working with senior partners who are open to new, innovative ideas.
In a law firm of this size, with fewer employees vying for management level positions, you’ll be able to prove your worth to the senior team and in return, will receive lots of support, trust and opportunities to contribute, develop and grow.
What you’ll need to apply
- A minimum of 5 years PQE in commercial law.
- Admission to the Solicitors Roll.
- Previous experience of working in a Commercial Property Department
