Douglas Scott are working with an exciting business in the energy sector, undergoing a significant growth period, who are looking to recruit a new Contract Manager for their team in Yorkshire. Reporting into the Head of Legal and working as part of a small team, you’ll get plenty of exposure to some interesting and varied work but will be required to hit the ground running in the role.
 
The legal team acts as a business partner to all the other departments, working on various construction/engineering/energy projects, providing sound commercial legal advice and ensuring project delivery can be achieved across the board.
 
As the successful Legal / Contracts Manager, you will be responsible for the following, but not limited to:
  • Providing legal and practical commercial advice to the Commercial Team in relation to existing contracts and potential new contracts, including interpreting, drafting and negotiating heads of terms, contract terms, and ancillary documents.
  • Providing legal/contracts support to BD & Procurement Teams, including reviewing and advising on contract terms on greenfield sites, projects and potential acquisitions. Additionally assisting with amendments to standard contract terms which are to be used to support the operation and maintenance of energy facilities.
  • Managing wider ad-hoc legal/contract matters, including Corporate and Company Secretarial Work.
The ideal candidate will be/have:
  • You’ll be an experienced Contract Manager, with a demonstrable background advising on Construction/Energy/Infrastructure projects or within the industry
  • An understanding of the energy sector and the day to day work of a Contract Manager within this environment.
