Job Details

We have an exciting opportunity for a Solicitor to join our expanding Property Damage team in our Birmingham or Manchester office.

We have an established and well-respected group of lawyers with our Property Damage Team who advise some of the UK’s largest insurers and their underwriters on all classes of property damage claims. This includes multi-million pound claims for fire, infrastructure damage, flood damage, building defect claims, Party Wall Act disputes as well as subsidence. This involves claims under a full suite of property policies to include commercial combined covers, property owners risks and Construction All Risks cover. Our policy coverage claims involve advice on non-disclosure and fair presentation of risk, breach of conditions and also fraud.

We are interested in hearing from candidates with 1-2  years’ experience within this practice area and sound technical ability, with experience of property damage liability claims, subrogated recoveries and policy coverage disputes. Experience in handling complex disputes arising out of fires, escapes of water and oil, subsidence and construction & engineering related incidents is also a requirement.

We are keen to hear from excellent communicators, litigators and  confident negotiators. Together with excellent commercial acumen, we look for experience at resolving disputes through various forms of ADR.

We encourage development and are keen to see candidates with the desire to pursue promotion to associate and partnership.

We offer a nurturing and collaborative environment and agile hybrid ways of working. Our company benefits include 25 days holiday allowance plus the option to purchase more, an additional day off for your birthday, pension scheme, health cash plan, life assurance and income protection. We also offer a number of discounts to use for gym membership, car leasing, mobile phones contracts and insurance products and a cycle to work scheme.
