Banking & Finance Lawyer. 6 month FTC. NQ+++ London

Our client is an international firm who are seeking a Banking & Finance Lawyer to join them on a 6-month contract. The role is to start ASAP and does have the potential to be extended further beyond the initial 6 months. The firm are open to considering a range of levels for the role from NQ level candidates through to those more senior. It is key for the firm that the successful associate is willing to get stuck in on a full range of work.

The successful associate will form an integral part of the Banking & Finance team and will provide support across all disciplines within the team's offering to provide a seamless service to the client. The team advises on the whole range of domestic and cross-border financing transactions including leveraged, real estate, structured, Islamic and receivables, as well as advising on restructuring existing facilities. The team works with both lender and borrower clients, including the major clearing banks, commercial and private banks, non-bank lenders, investment funds, institutional investors, corporate borrowers, hedge funds and family offices. Any experience dealing with similar issues with these types of clients will be of great interest.

Common responsibilities of the role include:

• Assisting on all aspects of transactions, including loan terms, security documents and CPs (supported by Transaction Execution Managers).
• Undertake transactions directly, dealing with all aspects of the loan and security terms.
• Providing client advice in a succinct, practical and persuasive manner.
• Applying a commercial approach to research and evaluate relevance and accuracy in delivery of advice.

It is likely that the successful associate is England & Wales qualified or another commonwealth jurisdiction (such as Australia or New Zealand, for example). They must also have broad general banking and finance experienced gained at a notable City or Regional firm. The successful associate will also be able to demonstrate good judgement and a legal and commercial understanding of client's particular needs, as well as a thorough understanding of the scope of tasks. They must be able to manage their time effectively and perform well under time and work pressures.

Whilst this role is open to candidates at the NQ level and above, it should be noted that more senior candidates will still be expected to get involved with both the junior and senior responsibilities of the role.
