Due to recent growth, our client is looking to recruit an Associate with specialist knowledge in public procurement to join their Government and Trade (GAT) practice in Bristol.
The GAT practice is made up of three teams, these include the Public Procurement Team, Public Contracts Team, and the International Trade Team. This provides the opportunity for associates to undertake a diverse range of work and develop multiple specialist skill sets. There are a number of public sector clients within the GAT practice, these include the Cabinet Office, Home Office, Government Legal Department, National Crime Agency, Mayor's Office for Police Commissioners, and more. The team also acts for a number of private sector entities engaged in Government projects.
This role will provide exposure to some of the highest profile and most significant Government projects in the UK and internationally. The successful candidate will be supporting and working alongside clients such as central government departments, non-department public bodies, local authorities, housing associations, and private & third sector organisations.
To be considered for this role, you will have a minimum of 2 years' PQE with previous experience of working within the public sector on public procurement law (under the UK/EU legal regime or WTO regime). You will exhibit a practical and pragmatic approach, as well as being commercially astute and solutions focused. There will be the expectation for you to provide support on business development, having tender/bid experience would be preferable but not essential. It is important that you demonstrate a strong appetite to build a career advising on government and public sector procurements.
