Our client is a leading international law firm who are looking for an Associate/Senior Associate to join their expanding Corporate team in their Guildford office.

Reporting to highly rated Partners you will be given the opportunity to work on all aspects of corporate work including corporate finance, joint ventures, public and private mergers and acquisitions, private equity and venture capital. Our client has established a strong reputation in a variety of sectors, particularly technology, private wealth, shipping and real estate.

You will be given responsibility for running matters, building client relationships and business development.

Technical skills and experience.

As a guide, due to the nature of the work and the structure of the team, they are looking to appoint a lawyer with approximately 4+ years' PQE in this area, although they will consider candidates with more or less experience.

In addition to a good technical grounding and a strong academic background, you will be able to demonstrate the following:

Commerciality with business development experience

Excellent written communication and drafting skills

Excellent communication skills with flexibility to adapt style when necessary

Ability to present technical legal issues in a clear, approachable and professional way

Initiative - enjoy finding solutions to problems rather than merely identifying obstacles

Client focused - a 'client first' approach and the ability to develop strong relationships with clients.
