The School has over 2,500 students enrolled for the Bachelor of Laws, the Graduate Diploma in Law (which originated at City), Master of Laws, PhD, and barrister and solicitor vocational training programmes. Our academic and professional programmes are, for the first time, housed together in a new building.
A large majority of the School's academic staff are, or were, practising lawyers and many are leaders in their academic and professional fields. During the next five years, the School will increase the number of academic staff significantly, whilst holding student numbers at current levels. This will allow increased capacity for research, education and a strong focus on our students' experience. The School is seeking to appoint the following roles:
- A permanent Senior Lecturer/Associate Professor/Professor to take a senior leadership role within the School. They will initially be allocated the programme director role for the School’s new Solicitors’ Practice Programme (SPP)
The successful candidates will be a qualified Solicitors and will have a good academic background (honours degree or equivalent), together with experience of professional practice as a Solicitor and/or a proven track record of excellence in delivering outstanding education and contributing to a high-quality student experience.
For appointment at Associate Professor/Professor level, candidates will be able to demonstrate significant level of experience in successful academic leadership and departmental level strategic and academic planning process in legal practice and/or of development and delivering of course modules, and contribute to the School/University’s strategic and academic planning processes.
