Commercial Litigation Lawyer - 6 months+ FTC

Our client is a heavy-weight boutique litigation firm seeking a top tier commercial litigation lawyer to join them on a Fixed Term Contract (FTC) basis in London. The successful associate is likely to have around 3-5 years' PQE, but the firm is willing to look at levels outside that range. The FTC is likely to be for 6 months initially with a view for further extension or permanency.

The firm specialises in major and complex litigation and arbitration, with a particular emphasis on multi-party, multi-jurisdictional disputes. The firm acts on behalf of multinationals, financial institutions, state owned entities, private equity houses, hedge funds and high net worth individuals. Those with litigation/arbitration experience with similar clients would be of great interest.

The workload will be a mixture of litigation and arbitration, around 50% each. The firm is currently working on a big case that most people within the firm are involved in (litigation, arbitration, BVI litigation and arbitration). The work will tend to be high value and international matters, and this is a great opportunity for the successful commercial litigator to have access to high quality, high value, and high-profile disputes, as well as strong levels of responsibility and the opportunity to work very closely with market leading Partners within the team.

It is likely that the successful commercial litigation associate is England & Wales qualified or another commonwealth jurisdiction (such as Australia or New Zealand, for example). The successful candidate must have gained experience in high value, cross border commercial litigation and arbitration matters from leading City or International firms. Australia and New Zealand candidates do not necessarily need UK experience so long as they are currently working for a notable firm/team within their country.

The firm operates a hybrid working policy. Ideally, candidates will be willing to spend between 1-3 days a week in their London office, though there is scope for flexibility should one need it.

Due to the volume of work the firm is seeing, candidates will ideally be available immediately/at short notice.
