Locum Contracts and Procurement Lawyer – All Remote Working – Up to £55 per hour Umbrella – Home Counties
Venn Group’s specialist legal team are currently working with an ambitious Local Authority in the Home Counties area who are recruiting for a Locum Contracts and Procurement Lawyer to join their department.
Expected duration: 6 month initial contract with likely extension thereafter
Hourly rate: Up to £50 per hour Umbrella
Skill level: Qualified Lawyer (Solicitors, Barristers, CILEX & Fellows)
Working pattern: Remote Working & Full Time (Please note that candidates that have the relevant experience but only can work on a part time basis will also be considered)
The ideal candidate will have prior experience working within Local Government and have a strong working knowledge of Construction Contracts (JCT + NEC) however those without this experience are also encouraged to apply.
Duties may include:
Drafting and negotiating contracts and other agreements including grant and loan agreements, service level agreements and all other formal documentation including NEC and JCT contracts
Managing a caseload of matters and reviewing work to ensure work is completed to a high standard and adhering to given timescales and budgets
Reviewing existing contracts, revising and amending existing contracts to make them fit for the Council’s purpose
Providing legal, procurement, commercial and governance advice on a range of projects from start to finish
Attending meetings as necessary
Maintain a detailed knowledge of developments in law that could impact upon the Council’s work in relation to contracts and procurement
Advising on a range of local government law issues, including governance arrangements for shared services, data protection and freedom of information
An attractive hourly rate of up to £55 Umbrella is offered for this position dependant on experience.
