Do you have a high level of knowledge and a detailed understanding of contract law and procurement law? Are you looking to develop your skills further in a supportive environment where no two days are the same? If so, we have the position for you.

An attraction supplement may be payable, subject to skill and experience, of up to 15% of the annual gross salary for a period of up to 2 years.

The main areas of responsibility will be to draft, settle and complete a diverse range of contract and commercial related documentation. The candidate will be required to advise generally and in detail on contract and procurement law. Experience of, or in interest in, corporate law, section 75 agreements and specific experience with the JCT suite of building contracts would be advantageous.

What we're looking for

The candidate will ideally have a high level of knowledge and a detailed understanding of contract law and procurement law. Specific local government experience is not essential but the candidate must have experience of working in this area of law within the public sector. The candidate will also need to demonstrate good literacy and IT skills, the ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing with the specific ability to draft legal advice, letters and reports in clear and in plain English and an ability to work as part of an existing team.

A strong team player is required who will be able to apply their knowledge innovatively and proactively.
