Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust (ICHT) has an exciting opportunity for applicants to apply for the role of Deputy Data Protection Officer

The post of Deputy Data Protection Officer manages the day-to-day activities of the DPO and has key input into DSP Toolkit, managing IG/DP issues including submissions to the ICO and overseeing the managed service support for the NW London CCG Data Protection function.

You’ll require a combination of excellent knowledge of data protection legislation, risk management, information asset management, data protection management, experience of deployment of Projects using PRINCE2 or other project management methodology. The current post holder’s legal background has been essential in providing guidance for data protection/ privacy issues

High quality, precise and accurate writing skills are required with the ability to cite evidence requirements and appropriate legislation.  Team working and excellent interpersonal skills are required to provide leadership and advice to internal and external stakeholders to support data protection compliance

Key Responsibilities

  • Further develop the Data Protection Management Console to meet legislation and compliance requirements
  • Build relationships with ICT Management, Information Asset Owners, General Managers, System users, system suppliers and other stakeholders
  • Support interoperability, data protection compliance and assist the Trust in meeting its legal compliance obligations.
  • Develop Policies & Procedures
  • Management and KPI reporting
  • Support the Data Protection Office with the submission of the DSP Toolkit & Trust Privacy Programme
  • Provide specialist data protection advice
