My client is a leading law firm within litigation and have recently opened an office in Manchester City Centre and are looking to recruit a Solicitor who has experience handling Data Breach Litigation claims who will also act as a Team Manager for several fee earners

As a potemtial candidate, you should possess excellent communication and organisational skills and enjoy projecting a smart professional appearance. You should also be a hard worker who is willing to roll up your sleeves to get the job done. You will thrive under pressure and be able to work to deadlines but have an ability to calmly articulate areas of discussion with clients and colleagues.

Role Description

You will have had at least 6 years + experience of litigation and actively running a fully litigated case load and be well versed in the growing area of data breach claims and be familiar with the Data Protection Act and GDPR and will preferably have experience of dealing with or working on consolidated claims or Group Litigation Orders.

You will have an in-depth working knowledge of the CPR and the requirements claimants have when bringing a claim in the County and High Court, including court issuing procedure and service of documents, Part 36 offers, disclosure, Forms H & Q, settlement orders, statement drafting, trial bundle preparation, briefing counsel, cost schedule preparation, costs negotiation and detailed assessments.

You will have drafted court documentation and have extensive experience in evidence gathering, disclosure, drafting statements of truth and interlocutory applications. You will have managed small teams of fee earners whilst continuing to fee earn yourself and have a track record of meeting and exceeding targets and KPI’s.

You will also have a working knowledge of relevant pre-action protocols for civil litigation and an understanding of Conditional Fee and Damages Based Agreements as well as be able to devise processes and tactics to maximise costs recovery at the end of a case.

Finally, you will have extensive experience of working with advanced case management systems (Proclaim preferred), be able to offer suggestions and ideas for improvement and streamlining of a given work-flow process in development and have an understanding of the interrelationship between data entry and successfully reporting case progression.

Responsibilities; 
  • Run own case load and oversee the work of other fee earners within Data Breach team.
  • Be day to day point of contact with any steering committees on data breach GLO’s the firm is involved in
  • Provide system feedback and proposals for work flow improvement
  • Monitor and police data entry and follow up with case progress reporting and client engagement reporting
  • Ensure up to date case records, attendance notes and time recording on the firms case management system across entire team.
  • Request, chase, organise, review and report on Data Subject Access Requests
  • Updating and liaising with clients by phone and in writing and overseeing best practice and naming conventions adhered to.
  • Maintaining up to date diary and task list
