Corporate Solicitor

Are you a Corporate Solicitor looking for something a little different?

This role certainly comes at things from a different angle. We are looking for a quality Corporate Solicitor with a solid base of experience, probably at least 6 or 7 years PQE, who is relatively self-starting but wants to be part of a professional services business that isn't entirely focussed on the delivery of legal services.

This multi-disciplinary business has countless business contacts and the wider business prides itself on exceptional quality relationship and client delivery. As a result they have found it easy to generate work for their legal team, certainly where they are introducing credible and high calibre lawyers to them. As the business is different to a typical private practice law firm the generation of business feels very different too and you would find yourself in a position where it is relatively straightforward to generate work without the usual speculative approaches, and therefore be able to add value more easily which in turn bodes well for career potential. This all sounds very cryptic but is much easier to explain than get down in writing!

As mentioned the work is high quality, typically for large SME clients and they usually find the larger national firms to be acting on the other side and handle some high profile transactions. The teams are hardworking but supportive and there are no individual billings targets which underlines the team dynamic. You would find them to be very relationship driven and have a lot of client contact. They are really flexible and adopted hybrid working long before the pandemic.

The business communicates well internally, they are very open and there is scope for everyone to get involved in strategy and they certainly know where the firm is heading. Those already there describe the environment as meritocratic, collaborative and commercial all things that have led to great staff retention.

The business is turning legal work away at the moment and this particular role is looking for someone who can come in to join the business within their Leeds office, being the lead lawyer here but with support from the other offices. As mentioned if you are credible, quality and client focussed there will be no problem in growing the work that comes in via the Leeds office giving you the opportunity to grow, develop and lead the team here as well as getting involved more widely if that interests you.
