We are seeking a Legal Aid Family Law and Childcare lawyer to join our busy family law team. You will be a proactive and resourceful Family Law Lawyer who is eager to join a well-established firm of enthusiastic and successful lawyers.

Job Description

This is a fantastic opportunity for a Legal Aid Lawyer to manage their own caseload which mainly comprises private law Children Act proceedings and non–molestation applications.

The case load will include Child Protection matters including care proceedings and PLO cases acting for parents, private law Children Act proceedings and non-molestation and occupation orders. The lawyer may also have the opportunity of acting for some privately funded clients in cases of family breakdown including divorce and civil partnership dissolution.

We are happy to consider both junior and senior solicitors or legal executives for this role. Salary will be according to experience. Senior applicants will be expected to have advocacy experience of case management hearings. An interest in undertaking advocacy is desirable.

You will be a competent and confident solicitor or legal executive who is able to hit the ground running on private law Children Act proceedings and non-molestation order applications.

You will also be eager to develop your skills and experience in care proceedings work by assisting a children panel member with care proceedings cases and by having conduct of straightforward care proceedings cases once you have the appropriate experience. Support will be given to enable you to gain the necessary experience to prepare you to apply for the children panel. Paralegal and secretarial support and some working from home is available.
