Contentious Probate Lawyer

Our client have an opportunity for a Contested Probate Solicitor or Legal Executive with 3-8 years PQE (or equivalent) to join their specialist Court of Protection and Inheritance Disputes Team in their Colchester office.

You will join a highly regarded team who provides specialist advice and In recent years has dealt with high profile cases. The team also deals with non-contested applications to the Court of Protection.

You will have proven experience in the field of contested trust and probate work and preferably hold full ACTAPS membership. Candidates with general litigation or private client experience would be welcome to apply for this position but you will have a genuine desire to specialise in contested trust and probate work.

You will advise on all aspects of disputes concerning the validity of Wills, claims under the Inheritance (Provision for Family and Dependents) Act 1975, Trust disputes, claims against executors and attorneys and contentious cases in the Court of Protection. The team’s work often also involves advising on the beneficial interest in property.  

You should have excellent communication and client care skills and be proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications.

The role will also involve marketing and business development and the successful candidate must be flexible enough to work outside normal office hours when required.
