Locum Democratic Services Officer – Hybrid Working – Up to £35 per hour Umbrella – West Midlands
Venn Group’s specialist legal team are recruiting for a Locum Democratic Services Officer to join a Local Authority based in the West Midlands.
The assignment is offered for an initial period of 6 months with the possibility of extension thereafter dependent upon performance and will be offered on a predominantly remote basis however, occasional attendance at the office would be preferable.
Our client are ideally looking for someone to conduct the role on a full time basis, however part time candidates with the relevant experience may still be considered.
The council are seeking a candidate with recent Local Government experience who will be able to provide excellent support covering all areas of information governance independently.
Duties may include:
- Providing advice and guidance as required
- Attending in person committee meetings
- Liaising with departmental contacts as required
- Preparing agendas and the related service meetings and being capable of producing minutes
- Managing and delivering the servicing of Council, Cabinet, Committees, Sub-Committees in their decision making processes
- Ensuring all meetings conform to legal requirements and in accordance with the Council’s Constitution, corporate standards and relevant procedures and processes.
The position offers an hourly rate of up to £35 per hour dependent upon levels of experience the ideal candidate will have over 5 years of experience working within this area.
