This is an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic and able lawyer to join the in-house legal team at Warrington Borough Council.

Based within Legal Services, as part of the Corporate team, your primary focus will be to provide legal advice and guidance to all companies in the ownership or control of the council. You will also be involved in the area of commercial law, contracts, partnerships and procurement, including the resolution of disputes.

You will be a key member of various project teams and will liaise with external lawyers, other council departments and other agencies as appropriate, advising on company law, commercial law, procurement and contract matters in the context of the public sector.

You will need excellent communication skills, team skills and the ability to interpret legislation in a common sense and practical manner, having due regard to the Council’s legal responsibilities.
