Why is this role crucial for Pogust Goodhead?

We are currently litigating a substantial number of cases and seek detail-oriented, analytical, experienced senior commercial litigation paralegals to assist the Legal Team full-time in all aspects of commercial litigation, including research; enquiry handling; client care; disclosure; case preparation; quantum assessment; and general case management tasks. Our ideal post-holder is an individual that would be drawn to becoming a trainee solicitor.

 

Requirements

Role Responsibilities and core competencies

To assist the Legal Team in all aspects of litigation.

This will mainly include:

  • Undertaking ad-hoc research projects as necessary
  • Analysing data and providing reports/summaries of findings
  • Managing client documents
  • Liaising directly with clients to progress their claims
  • Filing correspondence internally and through E-Filing with the Court
  • Managing the litigation timetable and key diary dates for Solicitor(s)
  • Civil litigation-specific tasks, including preparing documentation for substitutions, discontinuances, file closing, etc.
  • Drafting correspondence and memoranda

 

What you’ll bring to Pogust Goodhead

Essential

  • A minimum of 2 year’s plus commercial paralegal experience
  • Degree educated from a UK or overseas university, ideally equivalent to a 1st or a 2.1
  • Strong written and spoken communication skills
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Independent and proactive approach to work, but willing to ask for help when needed
  • Hard-working, resilient, highly organised, and flexible
  • Acute attention to detail
  • Respectful of client confidentiality
  • Comfortable working as part of a dynamic international team
  • A genuine interest in corporate social responsibility/environmental and social governance

Desirable

  • Post-graduate qualification in private international, environmental, business, or human rights law
  • Knowledge of a foreign language, especially German, Spanish, French, Portuguese, Italian
  • Relevant legal and/or voluntary experience
  • Non-legal experience involving client care or customer-facing roles
