Dyfed-Powys Police is seeking an experienced lawyer in Civil Liability Claims Higher Courts advocacy to join the force’s Legal Services team.

The successful candidate will be representing Dyfed-Powys Police at formal legal proceedings and hearings, including higher court matters, therefore candidates must be either: a qualified barrister; or hold a Solicitor’s Practising Certificate with higher rights of audience.

Here at Dyfed-Powys Police, we pride ourselves on our quality of service, therefore the right candidate should have a solid background in handling legal proceedings, complying with Court directions, analysing evidence, and briefing witnesses for the judicial process.

In the role, you will also be providing legal advice and assistance to Dyfed-Powys Police’s Chief Constable and the associated Office of the Police and Crime Commissioner (OPCC).

You will join our skilled Legal Services team in offering specialist advice and delivering analysis/interpretation of law to internal and external stakeholders to strengthen effective decision-making, support organisational objectives and enable compliance with our policies.

This position is varied and fast-paced, making it an ideal setting for a confident and enthusiastic lawyer, who has a wholehearted outlook in providing a customer-focussed service.
