Childcare Solicitor / Barrister / Chartered Legal Executive

Children and Adults Legal Team (Permanent)

Salary £38,223 rising to £41,418

Are you looking for a new opportunity or a change of direction?

Are you passionate about safeguarding vulnerable children?

Our busy, friendly and supportive children and adults legal team would like to hear from you. We are centrally located in Nottingham, close to the local Courts and within easy reach of all transport links in and out of the city.

You will be responsible for conducting a varied caseload, the majority of which will be cases in care proceedings, and in the PLO pre-proceedings process.  You will also have an opportunity to deal with a range of other cases such as forced marriage/FGM protection, secure accommodation and adoption.  You will have secretarial and paralegal support, as well as enjoying effective collaboration with other members of the team. This post is designated as hybrid working.  The role would suit a less experienced candidate who wants to develop with support and guidance.

You will have excellent communication, analytical and drafting skills, be able to manage a full caseload and willing to undertake advocacy at the appropriate level.  Chartered Legal Executives will need to hold the relevant advocacy / litigation rights qualification.

For further information please contact Natalie Grant, Team Leader Children and Adults Legal Team by email:

This position is Politically Restricted. Refer to Applicant Guidance notes for further information.

The closing date for applications is 25th February 2024.  To apply for the role please visit our website using the link below where you can complete your application online.
