Criminal Defence Solicitor

£40,000 to £45000 per annum salary depending on experience

We are recruiting for an experienced criminal defence Duty Solicitor to work from our Barrow-in-Furness office. We have offices in Lancaster, Kendal and Barrow. We will accept an application from a newly qualified solicitor and the salary will reflect experience.

Responsibilities

  • Providing the highest standards in professional client centred services
  • Advising and representing clients in criminal matters, including providing legal representation at police stations and court proceedings
  • Handling a varied caseload of private and legal aid funded criminal defence cases
  • Ensuring compliance with regulatory and firm requirements, including maintaining accurate records and adhering to confidentiality protocols
  • Developing and maintaining strong working relationships with clients, colleagues, and other professionals within the criminal justice system
  • Participating in the firm's out-of-hours rota and providing on-call support to clients as needed

Qualifications

  • You will be a qualified criminal defence law professional.
  • Previous experience in criminal defence law required
