We have a fantastic opportunity for a Property Lawyer to join us!

About us: Where-ever you live in the UK talk to us about a career in law that matters! Here in the Royal Borough of Windsor and Maidenhead (RBWM) we are very flexible in how we work, with most lawyers working primarily from home. This is an exciting opportunity that offers a salary range of £45,812 - £50,071 dependent upon experience, as well as an incredible range of other benefits; these include 28 days annual leave in addition to Bank Holidays, free parking schemes within the borough, a fantastic local government pension scheme, a host of employee discounts and much more.

RBWM takes pride in its exceptional team of dedicated professionals who are passionate about providing quality services to the community. It is a unitary authority in the Royal County of Berkshire providing a range of services through both in-house and commissioned providers. We are set in a major cultural and tourism area with attractions including Windsor Castle, Legoland and Ascot Racecourse.

The role:

We have an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic and motivated Lawyer (Solicitor or Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives) to join our in-house legal department (currently a team of ten) and play an essential part in our property projects.

You will report to the non-contentious Principal Lawyer and have the opportunity to work with our Senior Property Lawyer on a range of interesting, high profile and rewarding projects, as well as maintaining your own case load, and the potential to explore other areas of law depending on work demands.

The position of Property Lawyer will suit a legal professional with a strong understanding and knowledge of commercial property law and will equally suit individuals with either a public or private sector background, as training and ongoing support will be provided.

What we are looking for:

  • Solicitor or Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives;
  • Adaptable and highly organised to manage projects;
  • Strong knowledge of commercial property law;
  • A competent IT user, team player and confident managing a wide case load;
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with a range of internal and external stakeholders.

What we offer:

  • 28 days annual leave plus bank holidays and a day off for your birthday!
  • Local Government Pension scheme with up to 12.5% employee contribution (depending on your salary) and 16.6% employer contribution.
  • Flexible working including a hybrid working pattern for a better work-life balance.
  • An Instant Reward scheme that recognises and celebrates exceptional employees.
  • Free employee parking close to the offices and within the borough.
  • Give As You Earn scheme.
  • Employee Assistance Programme providing counselling, advice and information.
  • A range of flexible benefits including salary sacrifice schemes and discounted rates for a variety of goods and services.

If you’re looking for a rewarding, varied and interesting career, that provides flexibility and a good work/life balance, apply today! For more information or for an informal discussion about the role, please contact Helena Stevenson (Principal Lawyer) on Helena.Stevenson@rbwm.gov.uk

RBWM values a collaborative and inclusive work environment, fostering creativity and innovation in all aspects of its operations. As an equal opportunities’ employer, we encourage applications from all as we believe diverse talent makes us stronger.
