Job Details

As a newly qualified lawyer, you will assist with all aspects of running a case from initial interview of client to trial, with an understanding of the issues involved in dealing with multi-track cases, such as costs and the litigation process.

 

Key Responsibilities

You will have some experience with Clinical Negligence and Serious or Catastrophic Injury cases, also having experience running Personal Injury cases. The role requires excellent communication and client care skills, demonstrating an ability to empathise with vulnerable clients is essential. We require someone who is self-sufficient and thrives in a busy working environment. You will also be a team player and will enjoy engaging in marketing and business development opportunities. The role is a supporting role and will not involve a personal caseload. 

 

A day in the life of an Assistant Lawyer is never the same, however a typical day may include carrying out relevant investigations, obtaining relevant documents, preparing witness statements; preparing for Conferences and Court hearings (CCMCs/Trials).

 

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

·       Understanding of the elements of clinical negligence

·       An understanding of the specific requirements of seriously injured clients

·       Demonstrating a willingness to support the clients and their families 

·       You will be self-sufficient and thrive in a busy working environment 

·       Excellent communication and client care skills, demonstrating an ability to empathise with vulnerable clients is essential
