The role:

Due to continued expansion, this firm is seeking Regulatory & Public Law Solicitor 3-5 years PQE to join their high-performing team in Bristol.

This team primarily acts for public bodies such as local authorities, health trusts, regulators, oversight bodies and statutory bodies. They also act for higher education institutions and corporates including private and charity sector providers of public services.

An opportunity has arisen for a Solicitor to join the team who will be given a varied diet of work across the following:

  • Advising regulatory bodies across sectors on the use of powers, appeals, and public law challenges.
  • Assisting ombuds schemes with decision-making and complaint handling.
  • Guiding public service providers, commissioners, and regulators on decision-making and judicial review risks.
  • Managing judicial review claims in the High Court and appellate courts.
  • Supporting clients in regulatory interventions and public inquiries, including disclosure obligations and response strategies.

The ideal candidate:

  • Skills and experience in advisory, regulatory, litigious areas of law that are relevant
  • Experience of acting for or an interest in public bodies is essential
  • An eye for detail and the ability to process and understand complex legal concepts and apply them to factual scenarios
