This role focuses on providing legal advice, negotiating and drafting documents relating to property and planning, in addition to criminal and civil litigation. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role helping us deliver our goals; making a difference to our community.
In order to be successful you will need to be an experienced lawyer with an excellent working knowledge of property and planning law and associated contracts. You’ll also have a sharp eye for accuracy and the ability to manage a mixed caseload, priorities and deadlines effectively. Excellent communication skills and the ability to build strong relationships within the team and the wider organisation are essential.
Above all else, if you’re a team player with the flexibility, initiative and drive to not only contribute to the success of our dedicated legal team but to the council as a whole, then we want to hear from you.
In return, we are offering you a chance to thrive and further your career development with a range of regular management and other learning & development sessions whilst your role enables you to make a lasting impact on the Folkestone & Hythe District.
Our modern offices are based in the heart of Folkestone, with easy access to transport links, local shops and the beach. In addition we also offer working from home, corporate membership and reward schemes, Employee Assistance Programme, and access to the Local Government Pension Scheme.
We have a hybrid working approach with an expectation that you will work from the Civic Centre in Folkestone at least one day per week.
