About the job.
We’re excited to welcome a new Immigration Solicitor to join our dedicated and passionate team. This is a fantastic opportunity for newly qualified solicitors who are eager to kick-start their careers or solicitors with 1-3 years of post-qualification experience (PQE) to elevate their careers within a supportive yet forward-thinking environment.

This includes UK work and study visas (spousal, family, skilled worker, graduate, tourism, business, and settlement visas), applications for indefinite leave to remain, family reunification, work permits, student immigration, sponsorship licences, visa appeals and general immigration advice.
This role operates within a dynamic, fast-paced environment, under the guidance of our Director. The responsibilities for this role will consolidate immigration responsibilities from across the business and encompass managing your own caseload, with support from the wider team.
Our Immigration Solicitor will also take an active role in amplifying our firm’s business development efforts through blog contributions and networking engagements. They will help develop our relationships with other legal professionals and clients in Sussex and London to help promote our immigration law services through online and offline channels.

You must be registered on the roll of solicitors in England and Wales with the Solicitors Regulation Authority and have experience across a variety of personal and business visa application processes and appeals. You must have knowledge of the Immigration Rules, Immigration Acts and Home Office guidance, policies and procedures and experience with the Home Office’s online visa application platforms, digital documentation, and e-litigation systems. You will have knowledge of the European Convention of Human Rights (ECHR), particularly Article 8 and Article 3. You will need to have a good understanding of EU Law and post-Brexit implications as well as the British Citizenship requirements. You will demonstrate an understanding of the law surrounding deportation, immigration detention and appeal processes.
You will possess exceptional client-handling and negotiation skills, robust verbal and written communication abilities, and a commitment to establishing strong client relationships. You must demonstrate an understanding of cultural sensitivities and vulnerabilities whilst providing clear and supportive advice. You will have the ability to show empathy, compassion and patience whilst maintaining professionalism and boundaries. You will exhibit meticulous attention to detail to comply with procedural requirements and exceptional time management and organisational skills to balance caseloads and adhere to strict deadlines.
Efficient file management is of utmost importance, including meeting deadlines, adhering to established precedents, and uploading letters and documents onto the case management system, therefore, proficiency in computer skills is a prerequisite for this role. Proficiency in using case management software, such as LEAP, is an advantage.
Being proactive in driving matters forward and keeping our clients, colleagues, and stakeholders well-informed of progress via email, telephone, letter, or in-person interactions are an integral aspect of this role.
