In order to support this new and dynamic East London law firm’s rapid expansion of clientele in the Surrey area and its response to an increasing demand from businesses based in the southeast, we are actively recruiting for a Corporate Commercial Solicitor to join our dynamic and dedicated team of lawyers. This will offer a great opportunity for solicitors with over about 10 years of post-qualification experience (PQE) who is keen to work with a friendly and commercially orientated team. Exceptional candidates with lesser experience will be considered.

We will expect our Corporate Commercial Solicitor to take an active role in increasing our firm’s business development efforts through networking engagements and other marketing tools. Forging meaningful collaborations with business owners and successful corporations and play a pivotal role in growing our corporate commercial clientele in both London and Surrey.

You will be required to manage your own caseload, with support from a senior civil litigation solicitor with 25 years’ experience as and when necessary. This role has a full remit of non-contentious and transactional commercial and corporate matters including:

  • Banking and financial disputes (including Fintech).
  • Commercial Property disputes
  • Disputed debts
  • Tax disputes
  • Contractual Disputes
  • Managing relationships with third parties.
  • Protecting assets.
  • Negotiating financing agreements and banking arrangements.

About you.

A qualified Solicitor, Barrister or Chartered Legal Executive, with varied commercial and contract experience. A good negotiator with commercial law acumen able to strategize and be creative where required.

Your judgement and analysis abilities will be backed up with the requisite confidence to give persuasive, balanced and risk-based advice.  You will be a team player and if necessary, will consult colleagues with expertise in other areas of the law where required.  You will be part of a dynamic high-quality customer-focused service.

You will have experience drafting, amending, restructuring and negotiating a wide range of generalist commercial contracts and documentation. You must demonstrate a client-focused approach with comprehensive understanding of the factors affecting legal, regulatory and business risks of owner managed businesses.

You will possess exceptional client-handling and negotiation skills, robust verbal and written communication abilities, and a commitment to establishing strong client relationships.

Having an entrepreneurial approach, you will build rapport with clients whilst exhibiting confidence and discretion. You will demonstrate meticulous attention to detail, coupled with exceptional organisational skills

Efficient file management is vital, including meeting deadlines, adhering to established precedents, and uploading letters and documents onto the case management system, therefore, proficiency in computer skills is a prerequisite for this role. Proficiency in using LEAP the firm’s case management software, would be advantageous.
