Your new company
Join the dedicated Legal Services team of a London Council, committed to delivering high-quality legal support to the community. The team focusses on providing expert advice in children, adult, and education law.
Your new role
This is a temporary position for an initial duration of 12 weeks, starting ASAP. As a Senior SEND / Social Care Solicitor, you will be at the forefront of managing SEND tribunal matters. Your key responsibilities will include:
- Advising and preparing cases related to SEND issues and social care legislation.
- Representing the Council before the SEND Tribunal and other relevant courts.
- Providing expert legal advice on education law, including matters involving schools and academies.
- Conducting training and providing updates to clients and colleagues.
- Handling a substantial caseload, often under tight deadlines.
What you'll need to succeed
To thrive in this role, you should possess:
- A qualification as a Solicitor, Barrister, or Fellow of CILEX with a current practising certificate in England & Wales.
- Demonstrable experience in SEND education matters or social care legislation.
- Familiarity with local government processes is preferred but not essential.
- A current DBS check.
