Austin & Carnley are seeking a talented Family Solicitor with 3 PQE.   We are a well-established law firm based in Leighton Buzzard and Ampthill, with a drive for innovation and a passion for law.

The Role:

As a Family Law Solicitor at our firm, you'll play a crucial role in providing expert legal advice and support to clients facing family-related issues. From divorce proceedings and child custody disputes to matrimonial property rights, your expertise in family law will be instrumental in guiding our clients through challenging times. This role presents an exciting opportunity for you to further develop your skills in family law while contributing to the continued success of our firm.

Experience & Responsibilities:

  • Legal Advice: Offer comprehensive legal advice and guidance to clients on various family law matters, ensuring their rights and interests are protected.
  • Negotiation and Mediation: Engage in negotiations and mediation sessions to help clients reach amicable resolutions to their family law issues.
  • Court Representation: Represent clients in court hearings and proceedings, advocating on their behalf and presenting compelling arguments to achieve favourable outcomes. Deal with instructing counsel where needed.
  • A proven track record of business development with the ability to attract your own following, as well as the ability and drive to develop the Family Department.

Skills & Attributes:

  • Solicitor Qualification: You must be a qualified solicitor with experience in family law.
  • Sound Legal Knowledge:  Possess a strong understanding of all family law matters including divorce and separation, financial remedy, cohabitation, children arrangement orders, pre and post nuptial agreements, TOLATA claims and domestic violence. 
  • Advocacy Skills: Demonstrate strong advocacy skills, with the ability to effectively represent clients in court and negotiate favourable settlements.
  • Client-Focused Approach: Display a commitment to delivering exceptional client service, with a focus on meeting clients' needs and exceeding their expectations.
  • Team Player: Work collaboratively within a team-oriented environment, communicating effectively with colleagues and supporting one another to achieve shared goals.
  • Values:  Take an ethical and sustainable approach in line with our firm values whenever possible to provide the best service to our clients, commitment to personal development and training, supporting our staff and giving back to our local community.
