Salary: £64,492 - £67,359
Location: Central London, Portland Place / Hybrid
We are looking to welcome two senior lawyers into the NMC’s General Counsel team. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a high performing team at a time of change for the NMC.

About the Team
The General Counsel team provides legal advice and support to the NMC to enable us to fulfil our regulatory purpose, live our values and manage legal risk It is part of a large, talented legal community, which delivers legal services across multiple teams and specialisms

About the Role
As a senior lawyer you will be supporting the NMC’s General Counsel team to manage risks arising out of corporate litigation and other forms of internal and external challenge facing the NMC.
You will be responsible for providing high quality and timely legal advice and support to the organisation on complex regulatory and corporate matters, proactively identifying solutions that will mitigate legal risks. This responsibility will also extend to supervising junior colleagues on the delivery of high quality, timely legal advice on complex regulatory and corporate matters.
As part of the NMC’s Legal Leadership Group you will play an active role in supporting the NMC’s legal knowledge management process and providing training and mentoring to aspiring lawyers and lawyers across the organisation.
Please note, we are recruiting for 1 permanent role and 1 fixed term contract for 24 months
